Painting - Tea, shoes, and above all else, polka dots!

I've had a day off from university and the house completely to myself for two days so I decided to have a lovely relaxing day (after the boring household chores were done) painting! I had gone out and stockpiled some canvasses the last time I felt the creative urge, so all I needed was some good music on and a little bit of inspiration!

I raided my kitchen cupboards and decided to paint my teapot and my gorgeous little polka dot vintage tea cup that a good friend got me for Christmas one year. I also raided my wardrobe and came across some of my favourite Simple shoes, a flower brooch and a bow hairclip... This is the result!

Double Dose of Polka Dots - Fascinators and Teapots!

This week's Double Dose of Polka Dots comes from one of my favourite websites, DollyDagger. They have a really good range of polka dotted items ranging from gorgeous dresses, shoes, handbags, earrings and cardigans to birthday cards, light switch covers and door stops...

Speaking of which... I adore the first dose of polka dots: a beautiful red polka dot teapot door stop - £16.99. The perfect thing to hold the door open at a tea party. It's fabric and features a little embroidered teacup and "time for tea".

Dose of polka dots number two: Blue heart polka dot fascinator - £29. This gorgeous fascinator was handmade by Lilly Lewis exclusively for DollyDagger. Perfect for hosting a very glamorous, vintage inspired, polka dotted tea party!

Miss Selfridge - Kitsch and Cute Jewellery

I am a bit of a reformed jewellery addict. Between me and my older sister when we lived together we had enough earrings to wear a different pair every day of the year. My obsession with quirky jewellery has been curbed somewhat recently (mostly due to lack of funds and a poor student lifestyle) however, I have been tempted by these cute and kitsch pieces of jewellery from Miss Selfridge...
Plus... it wouldn't be right if I didn't include a little bit of polka dot, with this lovely black and white polka dot ring - £5

Polka dot teapot jewellery

I love all things teapot and teacup related... but... I don't actually like tea. I realise that is a little odd, but I just can't help it! My friend got me this lovely little polka dot teacup and saucer last Christmas, and I love it. Oh and the tea in the cup is of course not for me, but for my boyfriend (one of my more generous moments)

Dollydagger is one of my favourite websites for all things quirky, kitsch and cute. They have a lovely range of jewellery, and some of it features polka dots and teapots, so naturally I LOVE these adorable little polka dot teapot earrings and matching brooch, both priced at £20.oo
