Currently Craving Cupcakes...

I've been rather busy of late, what with final year exams, preparing for my trips to Gambia and Poland and sorting out the house ready for the big move back down South... and all this stress is driving me to cupcakes! All I'm craving right now is a pretty little cake smothered in butter icing! I've recently started up a Tumblr blog and there are so many inspiring little blogs out there filled to the brim with gorgeous, and tempting photos. If you're on Tumblr please drop by and say hello! But in the meantime I thought I'd share some of the lovely cupcakes I came across on Tumblr...

Modcloth - Gorgeous Dresses Galore!

Guess what I'm supposed to be doing... yep, a whole heap of revision! Guess what I'm actually doing... oh yes, blogging! After trawling the internet for pretty things to ogle I came across Modcloth and found so many gorgeous dresses I could barely fit them all into this post! I love the cute names that each dress has. Which is your favourite?

Painting - Tea, shoes, and above all else, polka dots!

I've had a day off from university and the house completely to myself for two days so I decided to have a lovely relaxing day (after the boring household chores were done) painting! I had gone out and stockpiled some canvasses the last time I felt the creative urge, so all I needed was some good music on and a little bit of inspiration!

I raided my kitchen cupboards and decided to paint my teapot and my gorgeous little polka dot vintage tea cup that a good friend got me for Christmas one year. I also raided my wardrobe and came across some of my favourite Simple shoes, a flower brooch and a bow hairclip... This is the result!

H&M Online - Buy Pretty Dresses From the Comfort of Your Sofa!

I have been looking forward to the new H&M website like many people and so far I've not been disappointed. I always find it a real chore shopping in-store at H&M, being a larger size, I see a pretty dress, but then I'm immediately disappointed to find that my size is not in stock. It has reached a stage where I don't ever really bother going into those shops any more - the ones that promise so much prettiness but don't deliver on availability of sizes. Sadly H&M had become one of the shops I avoided for quite a while, save a few visits for accessories and a browse, but now the website is up and running I need not avoid it any longer. So far, every item that I have fallen in love with on their site has been available in my size... which is a first!

This is one of my favourites! A beautiful red polka dot dress with over-sized black bow - £24.99 and it's available in white too! (I also used the nifty little "add to blog" button conveniently situated on the product's webpage)

This is also gorgeous! A cute little chiffon dress - £24.99 available in black too.

Although there are still some negatives in terms of the new H&M website (mainly the lack of "sort by... colour/size/style" function) but there are some features that I really like. For example, I love the fact that when an item of stock is not available in the size or colour that you want H&M suggets some alternatives (shown below) so you don't have to leave empty handed - yes it may just be a nice little ploy to encourage you to spend money, but if it saves time and effort on finding the perfect pretty dress then I'm happy!

I also really like the fact that the website suggests accessories, shoes and outerwear that would suit the particular item of clothing you are buying... Overall I'm impressed with the H&M website and it's definitely worth a visit!

Double Dose of Polka Dots - Weddings!

I absolutely love weddings! Everyone has such a great time, all the ladies wear gorgeous dresses and there is yummy food, free wine, and a lot of dancing! This week's double dose of polka dots is dedicated to my friend's lovely summer wedding...

Dose number one: I wore this lovely black and white polka dot dress (from the sale in Dorothy Perkins) teamed with a pink cardigan, some pearls and a white flower in my hair.

Dose number two: Another great thing about weddings is the headwear... There are usually some beautiful hats, head bands and fascinators around. I love this polka dot head band from Ferlies Etsy shop - $14.50 (£9.60).
