Epic Adventures Through The Country Park!

Despite the weatherman predicting rain at midday (completely unfounded, the weather was gorgeous!) me, my sister and Rufus - my parent's black labrador - embarked on a little adventure in the beautiful country park right on our doorstep. It's incredibly hilly as it the country park covers the valleys and cliffs from Hastings to Fairlight and beyond, but it is totally worth it if only for the views alone...

Walking up the initial hill with the Old Town in the background...

There were some wonderful flowers around and about including some blackberries and wild blueberries that we stumbled across.

*FETCH!!*

Quite a few steps! The only thing about going down them all to the see the sea, is knowing that we'd have to go back up them all again!

So pretty!

We found a picturesque little pond for Rufus to have fun in... he LOVED it!

Swwwwiiiiim!

Splish, splash, splosh!

After an epic walking adventure... all that remains is to enjoy a well deserved ice cream!

A Foggy Walk With The Dog

Went out with the dog for a very foggy walk in the country park outside my house... It was a lovely walk, but it was very wet and at times it was so foggy I felt like I was completely surrounded by a thick wall of the stuff! According to the news and weather, the fog is going to stick around for a few more days yet...

There is something incredibly satisfying about walking through squelchy mud, it takes me back to my childhood. I'm not sure that my mum will approve of me borrowing her walking boots though... whoops!

My local church graveyard looked rather spooky with all the fog and mist!

An Icy Walk Through The Country Park!

Whenever I'm back home, I love taking my parent's black labrador, Rufus, out for walks across the country park and the cliffs. This morning's walk was not the usual though... the heavy hailstones yesterday and the freezing temperatures overnight transformed the green hills into one big block of ice!

The wooded area wasn't as icy

Rufus loved the ice and happily slid and ran around on it, blissfully unaware of the dark clouds threatening to snow again!

The Country park was really beautiful with the layer of ice and snow

The steps back down... THE definition of "treacherous"!
But, Rufus was very good and walked close by me and waited patiently, checking that I was ok... bless him! I was very glad that I borrowed my mums metal spiked boots... if I hadn't, I would have definitely fallen down several times!

A Walk in The Country Park With Rufus...

I'm back home with the parentals for a long weekend and it's always lovely to come home, I especially love seeing Rufus again (my parent's black labrador) even if he does play havoc with my allergies! I got up bright and early and took him for a beautiful hour-long walk in the country park along the cliffs and I thought I'd share some of my photos with you all.

Double Dose of Polka Dots - Dotty Doggy Delights!

My work colleague has just got the most adorable puppy and he came into work with photos of the little cutie (which they have named Jensen... such a good dog name). So, this week's double dose of polka dots has a pet theme...

Blue Polka Dot Designer Dog Life Jacket From $20.99-$33.99
Ok, so this is a very specialist item, I'm not sure I know many people with a need for a doggy life jacket (maybe because I don't know anyone with a yacht, narrowboat or even a dinghy...) However, it is cute, and it is polka dot...

Polka Dot Chi Chi Mod Pink Bed for $1540 From The Ritzy Rover Pet Boutique
This item would definitely break the bank, but if you're lying on a pretty and comfortable bed, why not afford your dog the same luxury? Admittedly one of those cushioned ones from any cheap pet shop would do, but this one is pretty and polka dot!
