Athens - Rain, Ruins, Romance and... A Ring!

I have just returned from a city break in Athens. It was a wonderful mini break after a long and tiring half term at school... Above is a snap of me on a rocky hill just outside of the Acropolis. The views were spectacular and you could see the whole of the city sprawled out all around you - beautiful!

Beutiful views of the snowy Alps on our flight to Athens.

Our meal in the traditional family-run Greek taverna. The meatballs, moussaka and the greek slad were delicious!

Mmmm feta and olives!

We did have a bit of bad luck with the weather and here's me doing the obligatory "singing-in-the-rain" moment.

Nutella croissant for breakfast!? Yes please!

Goats cheese and olives are among my favouite things... so I was in heaven!

One of the theatre's at the foot of the Acropolis

On our first day we visited the Acropolis, as we reached the lofty ruins a huge dark ominous cloud came across the hills and there was a thunder storm! With the Acropolis being build on solid rock we quickly felt like we were rock-pooling with all the huge puddles springing up! We got absolutely drenched, but we made a quick pit-stop to a Starbucks for tea and hot chocolate and changed into dry clothes at our hotel.

Beautiful views!

Over the break (on Valentine's Day) there was also a little addition to my ring finger...

Ta-dah! The beautiful engagement ring :D

Relaxing and enjoying the views... one guess to decide which feet belong to me!

I would totally recommend a visit to the Greek Capital. There is so much to see, culture to take in, and delicious food!

Happy New Year!

Outer Space Kids Satchel - £30 - Cath Kidston

Well folks! Long time no blog! How are you all? I trust you all enjoyed the Christmas and New Year festivities as much as I did? I recieved many a wonderful gift for Christmas, and the gorgeous new Cath Kidston bag above is just one of them... My new space themed bag (which is actually a kids bag!) is the perfect size for my mini laptop and was a present from my lovely sister.

How did you spend Christmas? My Christmas was filled with scrummy food, board games (Trivial Pursuits, card games, scrabble, and LOTS of bananagrams!) and family gatherings! We had 9 round for Christmas dinner, a boxing day buffet with Danny's family and a big New Years house party for family and friends.

I've had a fabulous year, starting my first year of teaching, and I'm incredibly excited about what 2012 will bring... I've kick started the New Year with some new spectacles - above! I've also booked mine and Danny's first proper holiday, we're off to Athens in the half term for a spot of relaxing and sight-seeing together. I cannot wait!

What are you looking forward to most in 2012?
Have you made any exciting plans?

Double Dose of Polka Dots: Luggage

This Monday's double dose of polka dots to kick-start your week have a holidaying theme. It's the summer holidays and most of the UK are taking their family holidays abroad, going camping or visiting family, and lets face it, we have to travel in style! I've got two wheel-around cases, both are polka dot, one big, one small, and I couldn't travel anywhere without them!

I love my red polka dot case, it was only £25 for the set (including a hand luggage bag as well) from Argos. Bargain!

What better to accompany your gorgeous polka dot luggage than this cute polka dot luggage tag from Daisy Shoppe for $12.95

Holiday dresses fit for Italy!

I am a very lucky young lady, I'm off to Italy for two weeks! This time on Monday I will be in Rome and I am incredibly excited. It is my first holiday in about four years, and it is definitely much needed! My aim for this holiday, is to pack nothing but pretty dresses (aside from the swimming costume, naturally) nothing makes me happier than gorgeous dresses and sunshine!

As soon as my last exam was over I decided to go into Leeds and treat myself to a nice dress or two! I have got quite a few casual day dresses so I splashed out on this gorgeous floral dress adorned with pearls from Dorothy Perkins. Perfect for a nice meal out in Rome!
I have been totally lusting after this beautiful blue floral dress from Peacocks since I saw online, I went into the shop with the express wish to add this little beauty to my collection of dresses... but to my dismay they had totally sold out of my size! So I will have to admire this lovely dress from afar...
