Double Dose of Polka Dots - Emma Bridgewater

Here is your Monday Double Dose of Polka Dots... This week's dosage features Emma Bridgewater. I don't usually like multicoloured or mismatched sized polka dots as a general rule - I prefer a more regular pattern. However, I can't help but love everything that Emma Bridgewater designs! So, here's a little double dosage of the best of Bridgewater for you this bank holiday Monday....

Emma Bridgewater Aga - source
I'm not exactly sure how this gem escaped my knowledge. It was designed by Emma bridgewater as part of the Aga-rangemaster's Great British Cooker Campaign and it is delightful!

Emma Bridgewater Recipe Book - £12
I absolutely love cook books, but I must admit, and I'm sure I'm not alone with this one, I usually only use a handful of recipes from each book. This would combine all of my favourite recipes in one pretty polka dotty recipe book!

Double Dose of Polka Dots - Dotty Kitchen Appliances!

I have been neglecting my Monday post of double dosage dotty delights... so I'm trying to change that. This week's theme is kitchen appliances. My friend from uni said that she'd spotted a toaster that she knew I would love whilst shopping (naturally, it was polka dot!) so I decided to have a little search online to find myself some polka dotty kitchen appliances and came up with these two little gems...

Dose number one:
Red Polka Dot Toaster -£32 from Simply Be
I would LOVE this to grace my kitchen with it's polka dotty presence... it's a delight! It is also available in light blue or white with multicoloured dots. But I think the red is my favourite.

Dose number two:
Red Polka Dot Kettle - £42 from Simply Be
Like the toaster, this kettle is also available in light blue or white with multicoloured dots. One of these days, when I have a little more cash at my disposal, I'm going to upgrade my value bog standard kettle and toaster with some kitchen appliances more befitting of a polka dot addict such as myself!

Double Dose of Polka Dots - Vivien of Holloway Dresses!

To kickstart your week with a bit of dotty delight I have some gorgeous red polka dot dresses for your viewing pleasure! One of my favourite shops in Leeds (and I only say "one of" because a Cath Kidston shop opened up recently and I literally cannot go into Leeds without oggling the beautiful things it harbours inside...) is Rose and Co. I wrote a guest post on my sister's blog (The Style PA) about it a while ago - Vintage Treats in Leeds. Not only do they have th most wonderful apothecary style shop on the main floor, they also have a whole world of gorgeousness if you go downstairs... they stock the most amazing polka dot dresses by the likes of Vivien of Holloway along with some vintage inspired hosiery and lingerie too. But for now lets just focus on the GORGEOUS polka dot dresses!

Dose number one!
Red Polka Dot Halter Dress - £69-99
How amazingly gorgeous is this halter dress?! VERY! I absolutely adore the vintage 50's style and the full circle skirt... not to mention the obvious love for the polka dot fabric! Also, if red isn't your colour but you don't want to sacrifice the polka dot design... then it comes in 9 different dotty designs! Which, I might add, is completely and utterly brilliant. Red and black, black and red, blue and white, pink and black, multi-coloured spots, spots large and small... I'll stop here before I get a bit too carried away! Basically you've got a plethora of polka dotty choices at your disposal.

Dose number two!
Polka Dot Tea Dress - £59
Here's yet another beautiful dotty delight courtesy of Vivien of Holloway. This time it's a lovely 40's style tea dress. I love this style of dress and it's actually quite a flattering cut on me. As much as I adore the 50's style of dosage numero uno, the shape only serves to accentuate my rather large bum a little too much for my liking! This lovely tea dress, alas, does not have the same multitude of polka dot fabric choices as the previous dress. However, it does come in a range of floral designs if polka dots aren't your thing (shock, horror! How could that be so?!)

Double Dose of Polka Dots - ASOS Dresses

Well! It's been a fair few weeks since my last Double Dose of Polka Dots Weekly Feature... I can only apologise! I've been on my final teaching placement and there hasn't been enough time to blog I'm afraid. But fear not! Your Monday's double dosage of dotty delights is back! Aaaand... because I just found it too hard to cut down the beautiful polka dot dresses from ASOS down to only two, I've thrown in an extra dosage of pola dots for you all... three for the price of two!

Double Dose of Polka Dots - Top Toys!

I spent last night watching the 100 greatest toys on Channel 4 and it took me right back to my childhood! I spent a large proportion of my childhood playing Lego, Play-Doh, Sega Megadrive games, fuzzy felt, Polly Pockets, Furby.... the list could go on! My Double Dose of polka dots this Monday is dedicated to a couple of retro toys...

Double Dose 1 - Polka dot Sylvanian Families Mother
As a child I always wanted some Sylvanian Families play sets... Television adverts are very powerful with children and the Sylvanian Families adverts made them look so magical! I expecially wanted the canal boat and the windmill, which, I believe, was a little bakery and had the cutest little tea set... oh how I wanted it! Did Father Christmas ever bring it to me? no... he did not...

Double Dose of Polka Dot 2 - Polka Dot Winter Pony Rainbow Dash
Me and my sisters loved My Little Pony, we had the videos, lots of the toys, even a My Little Pony bean bag too in our bedroom!

What toys were you absolutely dotty about as a child?

Double Dose of Polka Dots - Countdown To Christmas!

I LOVE Christmas, I love Christmas shopping (provided I get it done early so it's not too busy of course!), I love all the delicious treats, I love the parties... in fact, there is very little that I DON'T love about this festive season! So this week's Double Dose of Polka Dots marks my countdown to Christmas...

Double Dose of Polka Dots number one! Snowflakes and polka dot bunting
I really don't need much of an excuse to put a bit of bunting up, and Christmas is no different! I love this cute snowflake and spotty bunting, it's perfect for a bit of a festive finishing touch to your Christmas decorations!

Double Dose of Polka Dots Number Two! Polka Dot Stockings
Unfortunately these polka dot Christmas stockings have sold out in this arts and crafts Etsy shop, but it doesn't make me love them any less!

Double Dose of Polka Dots - Domestic Goddess

This Monday's double dose of polka dots is dedicated to the upcoming party season. Everyone knows that Christmas is all about the pretty frocks, parties, friends, family, presents, and of course, food! If we are all to become the perfect domestic goddesses this Christmas (It's a tough job but someone's got to do it!) then we need a lovely polka dot apron to stop getting our pretty dresses covered in cake mix and cookie dough!

Double Dose number one: I adore this gorgeous English Rose Bow Pocket Apron - £23.99 from Dolly Dagger. It's just the thing to wear whilst making those festive mince pies, peeling spuds for the roast dinner and baking Christmas cupcakes.

Double Dose of Polka Dots: Retro Spot Cake Tin Set - £24.95 from Dollydagger. These polka dot cake tins are just the ticket for storing all the cakes, cookies, and mince pies ready for the Christmas festivities!

Double Dose of Polka Dots - Upcycled Fabrics

There's nothing like a bit of upcycling. Why waste lovely fabrics, clothes, and objects when they can be upcycled into something better, prettier and dottier!? This Monday's double dose for your dotty delight features some lovely dotty upcycled items available on the world wide web...

Dose number one - I absolutely adore this lovely little purse made from an unused polka dot tie! It's very cute, and there are more where this one came from, made by the lovely Kake Makes in her folksy shop. You can follow her great blog What Katie Found too!

Double Dose Two - This upcycled polka dot hair slide is made from a variety of vegan polka dot fabrics and is really pretty. It's £5.25 from EcoLoveByBunny's Etsy shop.

Double Dose of Polka Dots - Cath Kidston

As some of my Twitter followers are aware, I will be starting my final year teaching placement tomorrow... (excited! nervous!)... as a teacher I find that I constantly carry half of my life around with me, and it gets pretty heavy, and hard work! So naturally a little bit of polka dotty Cath Kidston eases the load immensly!

Dose numero uno! I love anything in the Cath Kidston "Spot" design and this gorgeous Holdall cannot fail to accomodate all of my folders, planning, laptop and of course my lunchbox!

Dose numero dos! Laptops are invariably very dull-looking (unless you splash out on a posh and pretty one!) so I like to keep mine looking pretty in a blue floral sleeve. I love this Cath Kidston Spot laptop sleeve for £22

Rain, Rain, Go Away...

I don't know what the weather is like where you are, but chances are it's cold, miserable and raining. I love autumn, all the pretty leaves and colours, and those crisp, cold, but sunny days. But somehow Leeds has felt like it has been raining non-stop for a week now! The one advantage of the horrid weather is that I've had an excuse to wear my polka dot rain mac (above) and get out my pretty polka dot umbrella! Below are some more polka dot delights that are perfect for this cold and wet weather!

Cath Kidston Khaki Polka Dot Umbrella - £26

Double Dose of Polka Dots!

Today I have decided to start a new weekly feature on my blog... The day didn't go to plan for various reasons from the moment I opened my eyes, but finding some lovely polka dot things cheered me up... So, from now on I'm going to have a Double Dose of Polka Dots every Monday to share with you all!

Firstly dose of polka dots... I was walking through the old town yesterday and came across a little shop that was having a refit and it's window displays were scattered with these delightful rolls of wallpaper. I love it! I would love to have a feature wall covered with the stuff.

Second dose of polka dots... I adore this gorgeous navy blue polka dot Kath Kidston shoulder bag! I have been lusting after a lovely Kath Kidston bag pretty much ever since my obsession with polka dots began, but I am thus far still yet to buy one! They are a little pricey for my poor student budget, but the moment I get a bit more disposable income I am going to start my Kath Kidston bag collection!

I hope this double dose of polka dots has helped cheer up your Monday! Come back next week for another dosage of dots!
